Australia Unveils Newly Branded Tourism Logo

 Australia says, out with the old and in with the new.
At least as far as their logo goes.

Tourism Australia has released their new logo designed by Interbrand Australia.  Tourism Australia will keep the iconic kangaroo (of course!) but the new logo features a more vibrant color palette –which frankly, I wasn’t that crazy about– with the leaping red kangaroo with the sun starting what seems to be a smoldering smoke puff on his back.

[quote]“We knew that there were elements that were working in the old logo, the representation of a kangaroo, the sense of movement, energy and vitality, but its slightly childlike feel together with technical difficulties in reproduction often diluted its impact.”[/quote]According to Interbrand, they the old logo had a slightly “childlike feel.’

Rod, over at Creative Roots chimed in saying; “I feel that the new logo with its colorful design is more childlike than the previous one. I can see that the old logo had technical difficulties in reproduction because of the gradients but it definitely had more warmth than the new one.”


I for one, love it. The new colors give capture the great diversity and energy on tap in the Land Down Under.
