Apple just wrapped up its big fall iPhone event where it unveiled its new iPhone 14, redesigned AirPods, Apple Watches, and more.
Apple CEO Tim Cook kicked off the company’s “Far Out” Apple event saying that the “Apple Watch has become an essential companion. I’ve received thousands of letters from customers writing about their experiences using Apple Watch.”
Apple took some of those actual letters and turned them into an ad for the Apple Watch showing customers reading letters to Cook next to reconstructed events they supposedly went through, and survived thanks to the watch, including a plane crash, a trash-compactor accident, sudden health scares … and an unfortunate run-in with a bear.
“Dear Mr. Cook,” wrote a 17-year-old high school senior who encountered the bear at a remote log cabin.
“It was a typical summer night. I looked around the corner, and a bear was staring right at me. I go to grab my phone, but my pockets were empty. As I was trying to figure out what to do, I looked down and saw my watch. I held down the button and whispered, ‘Siri, call 911.’ ”
We expect more new ads from Apple in the coming weeks pitching the new products, and that’s fine with us because the brand and its creative partners usually make some pretty nice spots.
