Apple to Launch iPhone 7 in South Korea October 14th say Officials

Apple is set to launch the iPhone 7 in South Korea on October 14 said officials from local telecoms, –two weeks later than homegrown South Korean rivals as the American phone maker waits from Korean government to complete testing of the new device.

South Korean telcos SK Telecom and KT have almost completed their testing for network compatibility for the iPhone 7 and all-new AirPods have already been approved for distribution.

While pricing for the new iPhone has not been revealed, the iPhone 6s came in at 869,000 Korean won, which, if the same would make it cheaper than both the V20 and Note 7.

Samsung currently holds over 70 percent of the market, but Apple and LG see the recent recall of the Note 7s due to battery explosions as an opportunity to gain market share.

According to Samsung, it will resume sales of its Galaxy Note 7 October 1, following a month halt during the recall, while LG will launch its V20 model today.
