Agoda Integrates Hotel Booking Into KakaoBank in South Korea

According to Agoda’s 2026 Travel Outlook report, nearly half of South Korean travelers plan to travel more domestically than internationally, up from 10% the previous year.

Digital travel platform Agoda has integrated its hotel booking experience into the KakaoBank app, the companies announced, allowing the South Korean digital bank’s users to browse and book from Agoda’s global accommodation inventory without leaving the app.

KakaoBank users can access the feature through the app’s Benefits tab or by searching for related terms. The integration surfaces Agoda-led offers alongside KakaoBank user benefits, and users can earn a small daily cash reward by browsing accommodations through the feature.

The in-app experience includes a leaderboard view of popular destinations, enabling users to explore travel trends and browse accommodation options.

“Travel demand today is generated at multiple entry points. Collaborations like ours with KakaoBank are crucial in meeting customers where they already are, making travel planning feel like a natural part of their everyday digital life,” said Damien Pfirsch, Chief Commercial Officer at Agoda.

“Digital banking is becoming increasingly embedded in customers’ daily routines with reports showing that 78% of South Korean consumers prefer digital interactions over traditional banking. Partnerships like this create more convenient ways for people to discover and plan travel, while enabling our accommodation partners to reach customers through a platform they already use daily.”

According to Agoda’s 2026 Travel Outlook report, nearly half of South Korean travelers — 49% — plan to travel more domestically than internationally, up from 10% the previous year.
