After Debuting in Asia and Traveling the World KFC’s Chizza Arrives in the US

KFC, which has never been known to shy away from unique combinations, is back at it – this with the Chizza. Though you likely figured it out already, Chizza is a paring of two white meat Extra Crispy fried chicken filets topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni.

It’s not a new thing, having made the rounds in Asia first after debuting on KFC menus in the Philippines in 2015. Since then it’s been in  Korea, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Germany, Spain, and Mexico, among other countries. Now it’s appearing in the brand’s home country, the U.S., for the very first time.

“Fried chicken and pizza collaborated to create something even better – the Chizza,” said Nick Chavez, CMO of KFC U.S.

“The fan-favorite mashup is finally available in the U.S. after making its way around the world – try it while you can!”

To celebrate its stateside debut, KFC will transform its restaurant at 242 E 14th St. in New York City – the pizza capital of the U.S. – into a one-of-a-kind “Chizzeria” pop-up, offering one menu item only, Chizza, in a “KFC-ified” take on a classic pizzeria.

The Chizzeria opened its doors for a limited time, Friday, Feb. 23-Feb. 24 but Chizza is available to the rest of the country starting today, Feb. 26.
