After Being Fired Mark Hamill Returns Once Again to the Drive-Thru at Jack in The Box

Once upon a time in a galaxy not too far away, Mark Hamill worked at American fast food chain, Jack in the Box. Until he was fired. It wasn’t for anything too out of the ordinary–he got canned for impersonating a clown while taking orders at the drive-thru window.

Now the Star Wars legend is back, he’s 70 years old, no worse for the wear, and once again manning the drive-thru at Jack in the Box in a pair of funny ads via TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles promoting Jack’s spicy chicken strips and French toast sticks.

Invited back for just one day on the job, talk about perks, Hamill was given was allowed to use whatever comical voices he wanted. Quite confusing to customers, until they pull up to the window and see the man behind the voice.


While he does well, his talents are obviously better suited for grander intergalactic endeavors.

Speaking about his return, Hamill told People: “What are the chances of a former employee who let you go, asking you to come back? It was too good to [pass up]. I said, ‘I’ve got to do this’ because it’s so personal, and it actually happened.”


He told Insider: “My boss told me to stop, which I did,” adding, “But when the work day was finished he said, ‘You know what Mark, if you can’t take this job seriously, maybe this isn’t right for you.’ In other words, go and never come back.”
